Privacy notice
This notice explains what The Daily Life Gazette records when you visit this website, why we record it, and how you can ask us to remove it.
Who publishes this website
The Daily Life Gazette publishes the articles on this website, including sponsored articles produced for advertisers.
Sponsored content
Some articles on this website are sponsored. Sponsored articles are labelled as such, and we may be paid when a reader chooses to visit an advertiser or take up an offer. Being paid does not change what we record about your visit.
What we record about your visit
When you open a page we record a reference for the visit, the page you opened, the date and time, the internet (IP) address your connection comes from and the approximate location it suggests, the country your connection appears to come from, the type of device, operating system and browser you are using, and the website or advertising placement that sent you here.
We also record how you use the page: how far you scroll, and whether you press a link or button that takes you to an advertiser.
We do not ask for, and do not want, your name, address, telephone number or any other detail that identifies you personally. If you give personal details to an advertiser after leaving this website, those details are held by that advertiser under its own privacy notice, not ours.
Why we record it
We use this information to understand which articles are useful, to measure whether an advertising placement is worth paying for, and to detect automated traffic. It is used in aggregate for those purposes and is not used to build a profile of you as an individual.
Cookies and similar technology
We use a small number of strictly necessary items of storage in your browser to keep a visit reference consistent between pages, so that a single visit is not counted many times. We do not use advertising cookies of our own.
Advertisers and advertising platforms that send you here, or that you visit after leaving here, may set their own cookies under their own notices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; this website continues to work if you do.
How long we keep it
Visit records are kept only as long as they are needed to report on and check advertising performance, and are then deleted or reduced to totals that cannot be traced back to a single visit.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about a visit, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because visit records do not contain your name, it helps if you can tell us the date and approximate time of your visit and the page you opened.
You can contact us using the contact details shown on this website.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we record or why, we update this page. Please check it again if you want to be sure of the current position.
